Day 4
Footsteps: Many people are hungry, not just for food, but for love, acceptance or friendship. Some are starving spiritually. Jesus knew how to feed every kind of hunger. In our small way we can do the same.
"Jesus' disciples came unto Him saying, send the multitude away, that they may buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said unto them, they need not depart, give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, we have here but 5 loaves and 2 Fishes. He said, bring them hither to me....and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude." (Matthew 14: 15-19)
Spencer W. Kimball put it well, “God does watch over us and does notice us, but it is usually through someone else that he meets our needs.”
Walking: Pray to know whose needs can be met by you.
Songs: Not Too Far From Here written by Steven Siler and Ty Lacy
and He'll Carry You by Hilary Weeks
Somebody's down to their last dime
Not too far from here
Somebody's got nowhere else to go
Somebody needs a little hope
Not too far from here
And I may not know their name
But I'm praying just the same
That You'll use me Lord to wipe away a tear
Cause somebody's crying
Not too far from here
Somebody's troubled and confused
Somebody's got nothing left to lose
Not too far from here
Somebody's forgotten how to trust
Somebody's dying for love
Not too far from here
It may be a stranger's face
But I'm praying for Your grace
To move in me and take away the fear
Cause somebody's hurting
Not too far from here
Help me Lord not to turn away from pain
Help me not to rest while those around me weep
Give me Your strength and compassion
When somebody finds the road of life too steep
Somebody's troubled and confused
Somebody's got nothing left to lose
Not too far from here
Somebody's forgotten how to trust
And somebody's dying for love
Not too far from here
Now I'm letting down my guard
And I'm opening my heart
Help me speak Your love to every needful ear
Someone is waiting not too far from here
Someone is waiting not too far from here
He'll Carry You
He knows your heart. He knows your pain
He knows the strength it took just to simply breathe today
He sees the tears that you cry
He knows your soul is aching to know why
He hears your prayers, each humble word,
When you said you couldn't face another day,
He understood
He knows the path when you walk blind
Though you felt alone, He's never left your side
He knew there’d be moments when no earthly words
could take away your sorrow
And no human eyes could see what you’re going through
When you've taken your last step and done all that you can do,
He will lift your heavy load and carry you
He’ll bring you peace and leave you hope
And in the darkest night He’ll comfort you until you know
The sun will rise and each new day
You will have the strength to live again
And in the moments when no earthly words
can take away your sorrow
And no human eyes can see what you're going through
When you've taken your last step and done all that you can do,
He will lift your heavy load and carry you
He hears you when you’re crying in the night
He hears you when your soul longs to fight
‘Til the morning will come and the light of the dawn reassures
That in the moments when no earthly words
can take away your sorrow
And no human eyes can see what you’re going through
When you've taken your last step and done all that you can do,
He will lift your heavy load and carry you
