Walking in the Footsteps of Christ - Day 8

Day 8

Footsteps: The greatest blessings aren't those of getting, but those of becoming. Jesus taught: "blessed are the poor in spirit who come unto me for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. And again blessed are they that morn for they shall be comforted, And blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. And blessed are all they who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost. And blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. And blessed are all the pure in heart for they shall see God. And blessed are all the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God." (3 Nephi 12:3-9 and Matthew 5:3-9)

Walking: Refuse to judge someone who is different from you

Song: Who Am I by Nik Day and Live Like You Believe by Jenny Phillips

Life is so much about relationships...It's so much about loving others and forgiving each other's imperfections. We need to look into each other's hearts and see all the good and bring it out. This goes for family, friends, neighbors, etc. The lyrics say so much to my heart. I am so grateful to know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, is there for me and everyone around me.  I need Him just as much as anyone else. Without Him I am nothing. This song brings into perspective for me that I can only change my heart and leave the rest up to Heavenly Father and the Savior. It's my job to love, not to judge...

Who Am I? by Nik Day
It’s easy to forget
That everyone makes their own mistakes
And everyone is trying
As much as they can

It’s easy to ignore
Everything that I need to change
Because I’m looking at everyone else instead

If I don’t forgive and forget it
Then I’m sure I’ll regret it in time
So I’ll try

Who am I to judge
Who am I to think I know their hearts
Who am I to think I’m right
And think that I’m better than they are
Who am I to turn the other way
Because of the mistakes that someone’s made
When I’ve got mine
Who am I, who am I?

It’s easy to forget
That everyone’s hurting just as much
We’ve all got our problems
We’ve got our own imperfect pains

It’s better to remember
That we’re all in this together
And our Heavenly Father loves us all the same

So if I don’t forgive and forget it
I’m sure I’ll regret it in time
So I’ll try

Chorus

Nobody’s perfect
And it’s all in the past
And everyone deserves a second chance

Chorus

Live Like You Believe
You have felt the warmth of the fire
You have seen the glimmer of light
It’s something that you have been missing inside

Something that you have been longing to find
Hold on to the yearning
And wherever you are on the journey…

Live like you believe, Live like you know
It’s one sure way your faith will grow
Listen to your heart, Searching your soul
And you’ll find the strength that you need
His light, The gift of his peace
When you live like you believe

There are things you have to let go
You might feel like just hanging on
When you find yourself alone and afraid
Questioning all the choices you’ve made
Hold on to the burning
He’s leading you on through the journey

Live like you believe, Live like you know
It’s one sure way your faith will grow
Listen to your heart, Searching your soul
And you’ll find the strength that you need
His light, The gift of his peace
When you live like you believe

Hold on to the yearning
And wherever you are on the journey
Live like you believe, Live like you know
It’s one sure way your faith will grow
Listen to your heart, Searching your soul
And you’ll find the strength that you need
His light, The gift of his peace
When you live like you believe
